Kim Workman

Kim Workman's journey with Gyotaku began on the Mississippi Gulf Coast before she moved to the Florida Keys in 2000. Along the way, she refined her craft alongside her late husband Ian, a marine biologist whose passion for marine life and conservation profoundly shaped her work. My dedication to this traditional art also led me to study in Japan under Gyotaku master Mineo Yamamoto and to share the art through workshops I taught in Singapore. Kim's work can be viewed locally and internationally along the Florida Keys from Tavernier to Key West, and the British Virgin Islands. I hope my work reflects the vibrant beauty of marine life in the Florida Keys, and a deeper appreciation for the oceans and protecting them.
