Biography
Growing up on a farm, I learned the values of hard work and a deep appreciation for the natural world that would later profoundly influence my artistic journey. After graduating high school, I joined the Marines, embracing the discipline and camaraderie that shaped my early adulthood.
Following my service, I pursued a degree in industrial arts, where I honed my skills in design and craftsmanship. During this time, I built unique furniture pieces for a select group of patrons, blending functionality with artistic expression—an early indication of my passion for creating.
My path eventually led me to join the Foreign Service, allowing me to live overseas and immerse myself in diverse cultures and landscapes. Each new location enriched my perspective and deepened my connection to the world’s beauty.
As my journey continued, I took up woodturning, exploring the organic forms and textures of this versatile medium. It was a natural transition, as working with wood became a meditative practice that further ignited my creativity.
Ultimately, I discovered my true passion in painting. Today, as an oil painter, I draw inspiration from my lifelong experiences. From sprawling landscapes to intimate wildlife scenes, my work reflects the vibrant tapestry of my life—a blend of adventure, craftsmanship, and an unwavering connection to nature.
Through art, I strive to evoke feelings of nostalgia and wonder, inviting viewers to share in the beauty and stories of the world that have shaped me.
